Solicitor Dr. Eileen McMorrow (Principal Solicitor of law firm YorSolicitor) is
preparing to attend Venturefest (the annual showcase in York for innovative companies
being held this year on Wednesday 11 February at
York racecourse). She is one of the judges for the Innovation Showcase which is
being sponsored by Business Link Yorkshire. The competition aims to find the new
business (less than 3 years old) which has the best potential for high growth in
the next few years.
“ The event really does show that there are many innovative companies in Yorkshire who are creating novel products and services which are desperately needed to kick-start the economy”, Dr. McMorrow said. “The showcase has attracted a very diverse range of companies whose businesses range from energy control systems and e-commerce companies to plant disease diagnostics and tissue regeneration”.
With a practice based in York, YorSolicitor is well placed to work with both local, national and international technology companies. Eileen has a Ph.D. in bioscience and has extensive experience in working with biotechnology, software and technology based companies. She has recently launched IP clinics at the Innovation Centre in York to assist new companies with their intellectual property issues.
“Now is the time for new and indeed existing companies to really understand the value of the creative assets in their business so that they can protect them, both to build up capital assets and create new income streams” she said.
