Local Solicitor on a Bio Mission

Local solicitor Dr. Eileen McMorrow (Principal Solicitor of law firm YorSolicitor) is preparing to visit the BIO International Convention in Boston, USA - a four-day annual biotechnology showcase with about 20,000 attendees starting on 6^th May 2007.

BIO represents more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centres and related organizations across the United States and 31 other nations.

Eileen (pictured, far left) is going to the event as part of the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) Yorkshire and Humber Mission to BIO 2007. The mission is supported by Yorkshire Forward’ s Targeted Export Support Scheme.

“This is an excellent opportunity to meet life science companies, other service providers and research establishments.” Dr McMorrow said.

“I am developing the international aspects of my practice. I am particularly keen to meet overseas companies who need a UK based lawyer to provide legal services relating to intellectual property (copyright, trade marks and patents) and commercial contracts.”

With a practice based in York, YorSolicitor is well placed to work with both local, national and international biotechnology companies.Dr. Eileen McMorrow has a Ph.D. in bioscience and has extensive experience in working with biotechnology companies.

YorSolicitor was set up in 2006 by Dr. Eileen McMorrow.

Eileen – the sole principal of the firm – is a qualified solicitor and has a Ph.D. in plant biochemistry. She also has a post-graduate diploma in intellectual property law and practice. Eileen has recently qualified as a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) accredited mediator.
